Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Dhanbad (Jharkhand), Feb 17 (NationPress) In an extensive operation against organized crime, law enforcement in Jharkhand's Dhanbad executed attachment and confiscation measures at the Wasseypur home of infamous gangster Prince Khan. He is implicated in orchestrating a criminal syndicate from overseas.
The action took place at Prince Khan's residence on Kamar Makhdoomi Road in Wasseypur, following a directive from the court. A substantial police presence arrived in the area early Tuesday morning, securing the locale prior to the commencement of the proceedings.
This operation was spearheaded by Dhanbad's City Law and Order Officer, Naushad Alam, along with Police Station Officer-in-Charge Praveen Kumar from Bank More and Abhinav Kumar from Bhuli OP.
Officials meticulously examined the property and executed seizure protocols as part of the property attachment initiative.
During the operation, a structure built on the roof of the residence was demolished. Law enforcement sources noted that some components of the attachment process are still ongoing, indicating that additional actions may be pursued in line with legal guidelines.
In a preventative move, extra security personnel were deployed in and around Wasseypur to avoid any disruptions. Although onlookers gathered to observe the proceedings, the environment remained calm and controlled.
Prince Khan is considered one of the most wanted figures in Jharkhand, reportedly residing in Dubai for the past four-and-a-half years. Upon the request of Jharkhand Police, Interpol has issued a Red Corner Notice for his apprehension.
He faces a series of serious charges, including murder, extortion, and leading an organized crime network. Authorities claim that even while abroad, he continues to manage his gang remotely, issuing threats and extortion demands through his associates. He has also periodically released videos on social media taking credit for various criminal activities.
In recent months, it has been alleged that Prince Khan has made extortion calls to businessmen in regions such as Palamu, Chatra, Jamshedpur, and Dhanbad. Over the last six months, law enforcement has detained more than 30 gang members. However, officials concede that the syndicate's operations have not been entirely eliminated.
The state police continue to pursue legal and diplomatic avenues to ensure his return to India for trial.
