Dhanbad, Oct 13 (NationPress) Authorities in Jharkhand have apprehended 12 members of the notorious gang led by fugitive gangster Prince Khan, who operates his criminal network from Dubai, as confirmed by officials on Monday.
Dhanbad SSP Prabhat Kumar stated that the arrests were made following a tip-off indicating that members of Khan’s gang had come to Dhanbad to plan a significant crime.
In response, a specialized police unit was formed, resulting in the capture of numerous suspects in the vicinity of the Rajganj police station.
Interrogation of those detained led to the identification and arrest of additional gang members, including those responsible for carrying out crimes, handling firearms, and overseeing finances.
Included among those detained is Khan’s close associate and principal lieutenant, Saifi alias Major.
The arrested individuals comprise shooter Suraj Tandi from Sambalpur, Ashish Kumar Singh from Jamshedpur, Tauqeer Raja from Wasseypur, and Lucky Vishal also from Jamshedpur.
Others apprehended include conspirators and financial operatives such as Afridi Raja from Wasseypur, Pawan Kumar Singh from Wasseypur, Hrithik Kumar Vishwakarma from Katras, Vikram Kumar Saw, Aman Kumar Gupta, Akash Kumar Varnwal, Tauqil Ansari, and Abhishek Pandey.
Police have seized two homemade pistols, three live cartridges, two improvised bombs, Rs 31,970 in cash, two motorcycles, and seven mobile phones from their possession.
SSP Kumar noted that multiple FIRs have already been registered against the apprehended individuals at various police stations.
He added that their questioning has provided crucial insights into the gang's operations, including information about extortion networks targeting business owners and the modus operandi of crimes executed under the leadership of Prince Khan.
Originating from Wasseypur in Dhanbad, Prince Khan is regarded as Jharkhand’s most wanted gangster, having remained in hiding in Dubai for the past four years while still controlling his illicit operations.
At the behest of the Jharkhand Police, Interpol has issued a Red Corner Notice against him. Khan often releases videos from abroad, flaunting his involvement in murders and extortion schemes throughout the state.
