Dhanbad, June 24 (NationPress) In a significant operation, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Jharkhand Police successfully apprehended nine associates of the infamous gangster Prince Khan, who is known for orchestrating a vast network of extortion and organized crime within the Dhanbad coalfield, as per officials.
Currently, Prince Khan is evading capture and is suspected to be operating from Dubai.
The arrests took place across various locations in Dhanbad, specifically under the jurisdictions of Mahuda, Bank More, and Barwadda police stations.
Law enforcement recovered five illegal firearms, 24 live cartridges, four motorcycles, and six mobile phones from those apprehended.
Dhanbad SSP Prabhat Kumar confirmed the arrests during a press briefing on Tuesday evening, stating that the gang was involved in numerous criminal undertakings, such as extortion and targeted killings, all directed by Prince Khan from afar.
The individuals arrested include Mohammad Sahil and Peer Mohammad from West Singhbhum; Ajay Kandyang from East Singhbhum; Bablu Kandyang and Pintu Lohar from Seraikela-Kharsawan; Mohammad Sarwar and Tanveer Alam from the Bank More area in Dhanbad; and Saif Ali alias Munna Khan from the Bhuli police station region in Dhanbad.
According to the SSP, two of those arrested confessed to their participation in the murder of Shahabuddin, which occurred in Dhanbad city last year. The SIT has also gathered critical leads regarding local businessmen who were targets of extortion by Prince Khan's gang members.
Following initial interrogations, police are in the process of establishing a specialized investigation team to delve deeper into the gang’s operations and trace their expansive network.
The apprehended criminals were publicly displayed near Randhir Verma Chowk in central Dhanbad, drawing a large crowd of onlookers to witness the public shaming.
Prince Khan, recognized as the most wanted gangster in Jharkhand, has been on the run for over four years and has fled overseas.
Despite his absence, he continues to manage his criminal activities through video messages shared on social media, often claiming responsibility for murders and extortion in the Dhanbad area.
