Bhopal, July 2 (NationPress) The president of Madhya Pradesh Congress, Jitu Patwari, extended his congratulations to the newly appointed state BJP chief, Hemant Khandelwal, who ascended to the role without opposition amidst a field of prominent candidates.
Patwari remarked that leading a political party comes with considerable responsibility, and Khandelwal now has the chance to guide the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh.
He expressed hope that the new BJP chief would fulfill his responsibilities while upholding the dignity of democracy.
Furthermore, Patwari emphasized that he expects Khandelwal to ensure the state government honors its electoral promises, particularly regarding initiatives such as providing Rs. 3,000 to women through the 'Ladli Behna Yojana', creating job opportunities for youth, and enhancing farmers' income.
“Today, Hemant Khandelwal has been named as the state BJP chief. I wish him all the best and trust he will uphold the dignity of our vibrant democracy,” Patwari stated while addressing reporters in Bhopal.
In the same breath, Patwari criticized the BJP government, accusing it of engaging in corruption and failing to ensure public safety in the state. He claimed that corruption has peaked under the BJP's governance in Madhya Pradesh.
“I hope Khandelwal will implement measures to alleviate the corruption burden faced by the people of Madhya Pradesh under the BJP government,” Patwari added.
Earlier, Khandelwal spoke to a large audience of party members and senior leaders at the BJP’s state headquarters in Bhopal.
He took a jab at Congress, suggesting that the opposition should learn from the BJP regarding how to conduct organizational elections.
“Congress struggles to even elect its Block President without controversy. This level of unity can only be found in the BJP, and when Congress achieves that, I will commend them,” Khandelwal asserted, mentioning his intent to leverage the capabilities of every BJP worker to confront Congress.
Khandelwal revealed that his family has been in the fight against Congress for nearly a century.
“For the past 100 years, my family has been raising its banner against Congress,” said Hemant Khandelwal.
“I am just an ordinary karyakarta. The Bharatiya Janata Party rewards responsibility based on merit and commitment,” he added.
He further highlighted the party’s internal unity, declaring, “Our party exhibits discipline. Major elections take place with prominent figures submitting identical nominations. I challenge Congress—if you can conduct even your ward elections with this level of cohesion, we will respect you.”
