Srinagar, Oct 9 (NationPress) The Crime Branch of J&K Police executed searches on Thursday in the Kulgam district and the Awantipora region of Pulwama linked to a job fraud case, according to an official announcement.
The special Crime Wing conducted these searches as part of the investigation into FIR No.06/2025 U/S 420,468,471 IPC and FIR No. 7/2025 U/S 420,468,471 RPC, which were filed at the Special Crime Wing in Srinagar, addressing allegations of job fraud perpetrated by the accused.
The searches targeted the residences of Shakeel Ahmad Makroo from Awantipora and Farooq Ahmad Thokar from Sehpora in Kulgam. These operations were conducted under valid search warrants issued by the appropriate court, with the oversight of executive magistrates and local police.
Crimes categorized as special, such as high-profile economic offences, are investigated with utmost priority by various divisions within the J&K Police, including the Special Crime Wing and the Economic Offences Wing.
On the anti-terrorism front, security forces and police are conducting aggressive operations aimed at targeting terrorists and their overground workers (OGWs) and sympathizers.
These coordinated efforts aim to dismantle the entire terror ecosystem in J&K rather than merely eliminating armed terrorists. Additionally, drug traffickers and those involved in hawala money transactions are under scrutiny, as it is believed that the funds generated from these activities ultimately support terrorism in the union territory.
While security forces address terrorism in the hinterlands, the Army and the Border Security Force (BSF) are tasked with securing the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) in J&K.
The Army oversees the 740-km-long LoC, while the BSF is responsible for the 240-km-long IB in the region.
