Srinagar, Oct 15 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, assured families of terror victims from Kupwara district on Wednesday that justice will be served. This district has been among the hardest hit by the violence instigated by Pakistan-backed terrorists since the 1990s.
During his visit to Dardpora, the Lieutenant Governor met with families of civilian martyrs who lost their lives due to terrorist activities.
He also addressed terror victim families at the Government Degree College Kupwara, promising them support for rehabilitation and the strictest penalties for the perpetrators.
Manoj Sinha emphasized that delivering justice, respect, and dignity to the families of these martyrs is his utmost priority.
He stated that the criminal justice system will ensure that those responsible for the terror ecosystem are held accountable, offering a sense of closure and justice to both the victims' families and society.
“I have promised the families that their prolonged suffering and trauma will come to an end. We are committed to providing all necessary support to help them rebuild their lives,” the Lieutenant Governor remarked.
He noted that the families of civilian martyrs have endured significant trauma and faced challenges such as unemployment and lack of education, leading to a loss of hope over the past three decades.
“Families of those killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists have also encountered systemic obstacles that hindered their progress. They were deprived of their rights and resources. Now, we are removing all barriers to ensure justice and dignity for these families,” he stated.
He paid tribute to the civilians who were ruthlessly murdered by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, as the families shared their harrowing experiences.
“It is challenging to express the pain and suffering of terror victim families due to their deep emotional and psychological scars, and the administration will approach each case with utmost sensitivity and responsibility.
“To date, approximately 250 terror victim families have been granted government jobs. This initiative will persist until justice is achieved for every affected family. We are ushering in a new era of justice in Jammu and Kashmir,” the Lieutenant Governor affirmed.
He also discussed the Memorandum of Understanding established between the High-range Rural Development Society (HRDS India) and the Divisional Commissioners of Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at constructing homes for terror victims who possess their own land.
Through this initiative, HRDS India and the Divisional Commissioners will identify families affected by terrorism whose homes were destroyed.
The Lieutenant Governor asserted that the Pakistani terrorists and their support system in the valley have propagated a false narrative for three decades to deflect attention from Pakistan's culpability.
“Pakistan, a hub of terrorism, is now exposed, and those involved in spreading a misleading narrative for the terrorists will be brought to justice,” the Lieutenant Governor concluded.
