Srinagar, Dec 13 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, stated on Saturday that the administration is deeply committed to providing employment, justice, and dignity to families impacted by terrorism.

The L-G presented appointment letters to family members of terror victims at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar.

“The administration will persist in supporting these families (affected by terrorism) in every possible manner. The initiative to offer government jobs to families of terror victims commenced approximately 13 months ago after I met with some affected families from the Kashmir division who shared their heartbreaking experiences. Their narratives profoundly affected me, prompting us to identify genuine cases for rehabilitation and provide them with government employment,” he mentioned.

He noted that today, 39 families from the Kashmir division were awarded appointment letters, while 41 families had previously received letters in Jammu. Additionally, nine families affected by the recent Nowgam blast were also issued job letters on Friday evening.

“This year, over 200 family members have secured government jobs. I have met numerous families who lost loved ones to terrorism and were left to endure hardships in silence for many years. One individual recounted how his mother had to beg to support him after their home was devastated. Many children grew up without parental support, yet no one stepped forward to assist them,” he added.

“We have also resolved to return properties belonging to victims and their families that were seized during the years of terrorism to their rightful owners. We are committed to ensuring that no deserving family is overlooked. Even cases where FIRs were not submitted will be scrutinized, and justice will be served,” LG Sinha emphasized.

“There was a period when innocent civilians were being murdered, while the terror ecosystem flourished. Those affected by terrorism were left to suffer in silence, while sympathizers of terrorism were granted privileges. It is distressing that terrorist funerals were once celebrated, while the real victims were neglected. We will not permit this injustice to persist. Those who glorify terrorism today will face stringent repercussions,” he stated.

The LG added that over the last five years, numerous government employees with direct or indirect ties to terrorism have been dismissed, asserting that the cleansing of institutions from the influence of the terror ecosystem will carry on.

“Every individual aiding terrorism and spreading false narratives will be identified and punished,” he asserted.

Reiterating his administration’s determination, Sinha affirmed that the government is resolutely focused on making Jammu and Kashmir entirely free from terrorism and its associated ecosystem. “Anyone endorsing terrorism in any form will face severe consequences. It is our collective obligation to uphold peace and ensure that no family suffers again,” he concluded.
