A special feature of the championship is the veterans' category, aimed at athletes aged 40 to 60 years. This category seeks to foster participation among senior officers and enhance interaction between seasoned sportspersons and younger athletes, blending enthusiasm with experience.
Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit stated that hosting the All India Civil Services Athletics Championship is a point of pride for the state.
He expressed encouragement at the sight of government officers actively engaging in sports despite the demands of their professional roles.
"In Bihar, the Sports Department became a separate entity in 2024. Since then, numerous international sporting events have been organized in the state. The government is consistently striving to promote sports and support athletes," the Chief Secretary remarked.
Pratyaya Amrit further noted that recent years have seen a focused effort on enhancing sports infrastructure throughout Bihar.
Sports academies are being revitalized at the district level, and various schemes are being put into place to identify and nurture young sporting talent.
