Union Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Saturday, 20 June 2026, inspected the progress of a state-of-the-art sports complex under construction at Lohia Nagar, Hubballi, describing the project as a testament to the 12-year development journey of the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Posting in Kannada on X, Minister Joshi wrote that the complex — spread across 15 acres at Lohia Nagar in Hubballi — is being built at a cost of ₹175.50 crore under the Khelo India scheme and the Smart Cities Mission. He noted that the facility will cater to 22 different sports, offering both outdoor and indoor arenas, and will have a seating capacity of 2,200 persons.

The minister stated that the complex is 95 per cent complete and is set to be inaugurated within a few days.
