Joyous Christmas Celebrations Illuminate Tamil Nadu; CM Stalin and EPS Share Greetings

Chennai, Dec 25 (NationPress) Tamil Nadu glowed with magnificently adorned churches, aglow with lights, as people participated in midnight masses and worship services to celebrate Christmas.

A significant number of Christians gathered to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. Churches throughout the state were vibrant with midnight masses and special prayers, where devoted Christians sang carols, offered prayers, and embraced the essence of Christmas.

To facilitate safe celebrations, the Tamil Nadu Police implemented thorough security measures. There was an increased police presence at churches and public areas to manage large gatherings and ensure order.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin conveyed warm Christmas wishes to the residents of the state.

In his message, CM Stalin stated, "I extend my heartfelt Christmas greetings to all Christians who follow the path of love shown by Jesus Christ. Tamil Nadu will continue to be a state where individuals of all faiths coexist with equal rights, and the government will strive diligently to maintain this harmony."

AIADMK General Secretary and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), also shared Christmas wishes. In a message on the social media platform 'X', EPS remarked, "Do to others as you would have them do to you. I encourage everyone to treat one another equally and with love. To all my dear Christian brothers and sisters, I extend my heartfelt Christmas greetings with joy."

Outside the churches, Christian communities arranged cultural programs, charitable events, and feasts to celebrate the occasion.

The streets were embellished with Christmas decorations, and the festive spirit echoed in homes and public areas alike.

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) President Vijay also wished the nation a joyous Christmas, highlighting the significance of love, kindness, and peace in everyone’s lives.

In a social media post, the actor-turned-politician shared his heartfelt greetings, stating, "As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, I wish you and your loved ones a Christmas filled with warmth, happiness, and tranquility. May this festive season bring us closer to the values of compassion, empathy, and harmony."

Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai also conveyed his Christmas wishes to believers. In a post on 'X', he mentioned, "Today, I am very happy to have visited the Annai Velankanni Cathedral in Besant Nagar, Chennai, and participated in the Christmas festival. All the brothers and sisters who came to the cathedral made this day special with their warm wishes. I prayed to God that the lives of all the people of Tamil Nadu may be filled with happiness, peace, and love, and that equality and brotherhood prevail."
