Patna, Nov 8 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday criticized the Grand Alliance for transforming the land of Satyagraha, Champaran, into a refuge for criminals and thugs.
Speaking at a rally in Bettiah, the center of West Champaran district, he remarked, "Bettiah and Champaran have experienced the most horrific manifestations of RJD and Congress's jungle raj. Those responsible for this jungle raj have turned this revered land of Satyagraha into a sanctuary for thugs and criminals. Murders were rampant, making it unsafe for sisters and daughters to even step outside their homes."
PM Modi emphasized that when the rule of law disintegrates, it is the weakest who bear the brunt.
"In places where the rule of law collapses, the poor, deprived, and oppressed suffer the most. In environments dominated by violence and extortion, the aspirations of young people are shattered. Where lawlessness prevails, businesses falter, halting trade and commerce," he stated.
He compared the administrations of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar, asserting that under the NDA and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar enjoyed effective governance, whereas people lived in constant trepidation during the RJD's rule.
"You have witnessed peace under Nitish Kumar's leadership. It is now our shared duty to shield Bihar from jungle raj," he remarked.
PM Modi mentioned that "an RJD rally shared a video where a reporter asks a child why he attended the 'lantern' party's rally, to which the child replied he wanted to become a rangdaar."
He highlighted that Bihar has historically defined social justice for the nation but must now spearhead development.
"Bihar will set a new example as a prosperous, developed India. I am here in Bettiah, in Champaran, to seek your blessings for my colleagues. The day is not far when Bihar will be recognized as a hub for food processing, tourism, textiles, and technology," PM Modi stated.
He noted the overwhelming turnout at NDA rallies, asserting that polling trends indicated broad support across various social demographics.
"Throughout my campaign, every rally has surpassed its predecessor; records have been shattered. In the initial phase of voting, you have set new records since Independence. In Bihar, the youth, women, impoverished brothers and sisters, the middle class, and farmers have spearheaded the election campaign in favor of the NDA," he said.
He added that the election is being driven by the people themselves.
"I can assert that this election is not merely contested by NDA leaders; it is fought by the people of Bihar. We reject a corrupt government and seek the NDA government once more," he declared.
PM Modi identified Bettiah as his final rally in this Bihar election campaign.
"I commenced my campaign after receiving blessings at the birthplace of Bharat Ratna Jan Nayak Karpoori Thakur. Today marks my last public meeting in this election campaign here in Champaran, the land of Bapu's Satyagraha. This land of Champaran Satyagraha stands for determination," PM Modi remarked.
He stated that Champaran's role is vital in the developmental journey that the NDA is envisioning.
"As we embark on the journey towards a developed Bihar, Champaran's significance will once again be paramount. This enormous crowd in Bettiah mirrors the spirit of Champaran," he concluded.
