Kanker District Panchayat CEO Haresh Mandavi stated that all 6,801 houses constructed under the scheme in the district will be formally inaugurated on November 1. He remarked, “During State Foundation Day, the mass housewarming ceremonies will be celebrated with vibrancy and traditional customs across every development block in the district.”

He noted that this grand event is organized under the supervision of Collector Nileshkumar Mahadev Kshirsagar.
Beneficiaries from various village panchayats expressed their joy. Villager Somaru Dhankar shared, “Living in a mud house was extremely challenging. During rains, the roof leaked, letting water in. Now, with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, I have a permanent home, and all those issues are resolved. My sincere thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this.”
Another beneficiary, Dhan Singh Jain, remarked, “Previously, our tiled roof house was a safety concern throughout the year, especially during rains when we feared it might collapse. Now I have a permanent house — it’s the greatest gift of my life. I am thankful to Prime Minister Modi and the government for this.”
CEO Haresh Mandavi also mentioned that construction in the district is progressing swiftly. Despite delays due to rain, nearly 23,000 additional houses are expected to be completed soon.
