Bengaluru, Nov 8 (NationPress) - Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President D.K. Shivakumar revealed on Saturday that the appointments for various corporations and boards in the state are set to occur within a week. He made this announcement during a joint press conference alongside Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, where they discussed the Congress campaign against 'vote chori' (vote theft) at the party's Bengaluru office.
Responding to inquiries about the delay in appointing party workers to boards, Shivakumar explained: "3,000 workers have already been assigned responsibilities. In each constituency, 15 individuals oversee the guarantee committees, with 60 appointed per constituency. At the state level, there are 600 positions available in corporations and boards, and we will announce these appointments within a week."
Regarding the Bihar election campaign, he remarked: "Our leaders have put in considerable effort. We trust the people of Bihar; they seek change to uphold the Constitution and democracy, and we are confident they will grant us a clear majority."
When questioned about the Congress's lack of affidavits or legal action concerning voter fraud allegations, Shivakumar noted: "We are requesting documents from the Election Commission, but instead of providing information, they demand evidence from us. Their data should be public. Once we receive the documents, we will proceed with filing affidavits."
He added: "After Rahul Gandhi highlighted irregularities in Mahadevapura, media outlets visited those sites—one room had 84 registered voters, and a bar had 56. What measures has the Commission undertaken? None. In Aland, our government established an SIT, yet the Commission refuses to share any data," Shivakumar alleged.
"The Commission appears to be acting as a BJP agent, and our aim is to raise awareness and safeguard the right to vote," he declared.
On whether the Election Commission is neglecting the allegations, he stated: "Over 300 MPs have submitted a proposal to the Central Election Commission. To date, there has been no response. They claim they will file an FIR but take no action. They know who will be revealed if they conduct an investigation. Nonetheless, we persist in our efforts."
