Karnataka BJP to Demonstrate at Gandhi's Statue in Bengaluru Against Congress’ 100th Anniversary Celebrations

Bengaluru, Dec 26 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has made it known that it will hold a protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue here, criticizing the centenary celebration organized by the Congress party in Belagavi. The BJP has referred to Congress as a “fake” party, just like the counterfeit celebration under the name of Gandhi ji.

During a press conference at the BJP State Office Jagannath Bhavan on Friday, BJP chief and MLA B. Y. Vijayendra voiced his disapproval, asserting that the Congress party in both the country and the state is not the genuine Congress but a fake entity.

“A protest is scheduled for Friday (Dec 27) at 10:30 a.m. in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue in Bengaluru, opposing the fake policies of Congress during its session in Belagavi,” Vijayendra declared.

He emphasized that it is inappropriate for the Congress party to spend crores of taxpayers' money to host a lavish session in Belagavi. He further added that members of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council will join this protest.

“The Congress party has abandoned the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Ambedkar. They lack the moral authority and qualifications to reference the names of Gandhi and Ambedkar,” the state BJP leader reiterated.

He accused Congress of showing no dedication towards the country’s unity and integrity, claiming that it is Congress that has contributed to the division of the nation.

Vijayendra pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed five significant locations related to Babasaheb Ambedkar into sacred pilgrimage sites (Panchtirth).

He also criticized Congress for misusing taxpayers' funds to organize a grand session in Belagavi, labeling it as “inappropriate.”

Mahatma Gandhi explicitly stated to dissolve the Congress party after achieving independence. However, former PM Jawahar Lal Nehru and others retained the party and continued the British policy of divide and rule. The current Congress party is perpetuating the same approach, Vijayendra charged.

“The Congress party was born out of a movement aimed at achieving independence. The current Congress is a fake version. The present Congress leaders do not have the right to invoke the name of Mahatma Gandhi. They do not even deserve to call him Mahatma,” he criticized.

In Belagavi, the hoardings for the centenary celebrations of the 1924 Indian National Congress session, chaired by Mahatma Gandhi (the only Congress session he presided over), are the result of a systematic conspiracy by Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and CM Siddaramaiah. The Indian map depicted in the hoardings and posters is distorted, showing the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) region and Siachen region as ceded to Pakistan and China,” he remarked.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has clearly stated that no part of our country will be surrendered to Pakistan or China. Yet, the Congress party has altered the map of India. Their lack of commitment towards the country is evident. This stance has been demonstrated again during the centenary session in Belagavi,” he concluded.
