Chitradurga, Jan 23 (NationPress) In response to rumors of conflicts within the Congress party, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah asserted on Thursday that there is no groupism present in his party and emphasized that there are no disputes between him and Deputy Chief Shivakumar.

“Shivakumar and I are standing united. Our party has no factions,” the Chief Minister remarked during an event after offering Bagina at the Vanivilasa reservoir in Hiriyur town of Chitradurga district.

He expressed confidence that the Congress-led administration will fulfill its five-year term and will return to power in 2028.

Pointing to discord within the BJP, Siddaramaiah claimed that the BJP is plagued by more internal divisions.

“Our party is free from groupism. Members of the BJP are in conflict with each other. The Congress remains united and our government is stable in Karnataka. We are poised to govern for five years and will reclaim power after the Assembly elections in 2028,” he stated.

Siddaramaiah also highlighted the government’s commitment to irrigation, announcing that a scheme valued at Rs 1,274 crore is set for implementation, which will ensure water access to every acre of farmland in the area.

In criticizing the BJP, he mentioned that BJP MP Govinda Karajol made unfulfilled promises regarding the Upper Bhadra Project, ultimately deceiving the populace.

“Despite the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announcing Rs 5,300 crore for the project in the Union Budget, not a single penny has been allocated. This is a betrayal by the Central government and the BJP,” he alleged.

The Chief Minister urged the Union Finance Minister to make good on her promise to allocate Rs 5,300 crore for the project.

“Contrary to the BJP, which misleads people with empty promises, we stand by our commitments. Our administration has effectively implemented the five guarantees, gaining the trust of the poor and middle-class citizens,” he asserted.

He also emphasized the historical significance of the Vanivilasa reservoir, noting it as the first dam constructed in Karnataka, boasting a history of 115 years.

“This dam, established during the reign of Maharani Kemparajammanni through the sale of her jewelry and an expenditure of Rs 45 lakh, now supports irrigation for 30,000 acres of farmland. We honor and appreciate her vision and sacrifice,” he concluded.
