Bengaluru, Oct 3 (NationPress) The Karnataka Congress division initiated a signature collection and public awareness initiative in Bengaluru on Friday to address claims of voter fraud.
The Congress asserted that this initiative aims to raise public consciousness regarding the voter fraud that allegedly facilitated the rise of the BJP-led Central government to power.
“Under the guidance of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, a sweeping campaign is being executed nationwide to combat voter fraud. We are working to remind every citizen of their voting rights. Rahul Gandhi is at the forefront of this national movement to safeguard the Constitution and uphold democracy against voter fraud,” stated the Congress.
At the event's launch in Pulakeshinagar, AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala remarked, “Our Constitution ensures one person, one vote. However, current practices of voter fraud stand in stark contradiction to constitutional principles. It is imperative that we unite to defend our revered Constitution.”
He emphasized, “Figures like Ashfaqulla Khan, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Subhas Chandra Bose, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, and many others ignited the flames of revolution in this nation. Their sacrifices have granted us our freedom, which is now being methodically eroded through voter fraud.”
Surjewala continued, “We must challenge this fraud, unveil it, and bring it to public awareness. Alongside this extensive movement, the Congress is prepared to launch smaller awareness campaigns throughout the state.”
He accused that similar voter fraud incidents that occurred in Mahadevapura and Aland constituencies are replicated in every Assembly and Lok Sabha election across the country.
“Our goal is to gather over five crore signatures and present them to the Election Commission of India.
Participants in the campaign included leaders and supporters from the Pulakeshinagar Assembly constituency, alongside members of the Mahila Congress and Youth Congress.
