Mumbai, Oct 3 (NationPress) Being an actor entails the challenge of having to lose or gain weight rapidly to fit a specific role. In an exclusive interview with IANS, Rohit Saraf shared insights into the fitness hurdles he encounters as an actor.
When asked, "How tough is it for an actor to adjust their weight for a role?"
He acknowledged the difficulty, saying, "It’s not just actors—it’s challenging for anyone to transform their body. Everyone reacts differently to diet and exercise. For this film, Sanya and I both underwent significant body transformations. Sanya dedicated a year to her regimen, while I adhered to a strict plan for about 14-15 months. It was both exhausting and rewarding."
On his professional journey, Rohit made waves in Shashank Khaitan's romantic comedy, "Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari," where he stars alongside Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, Maniesh Paul, and Akshay Oberoi.
Describing the atmosphere on set during filming, Rohit mentioned, "Oh, we had an incredible time! It was such a joy to work with so many talented people—Sanya, Varun, Janhvi, myself, Manish, Abhinav, Mallika, and many others. The vibe was consistently lighthearted and energetic."
He added that during rainy moments, they would engage in badminton or football while waiting for the rain to pass and continue shooting.
"There was never a dull moment," he remarked.
When asked to depict his real-life Tulsi Kumari (ideal partner), Rohit expressed that she should be someone who values respect for everyone, including him.
"She ought to be ambitious and supportive of others’ aspirations. That means a lot to me," he commented.
“Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari” narrates the story of Sunny (Varun Dhawan) and Tulsi (Janhvi Kapoor) as they strive to win back their former partners, portrayed by Sanya Malhotra and Rohit Saraf.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari” premiered in theaters worldwide this Dussehra, on October 2.
