Kubbra Sait Addresses Social Media's Impact on Body Image
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 29 (NationPress) Actress Kubbra Sait discussed the unrealistic body expectations prevalent in today's social media landscape during a candid interview with IANS.
She emphasized that rather than pointing fingers at the platform, we should examine the root causes of our insecurities.
When questioned about the intense pressure social media imposes on actors regarding body image, she responded, "We often attribute our insecurities to the medium. The more pressing question is—why do we feel this way? If you have self-belief, no platform can shake your confidence. Personally, I prefer not to change my looks beyond basic fitness—that's my personal choice. However, if others choose differently, that’s their prerogative."
"We need to refrain from judging one another and concentrate on our own lives. Our sense of security or insecurity originates from within, not from social media," Kubbra added.
During the discussion, Kubbra also reflected on her acting journey.
When asked, "Since 2010, you've taken on numerous roles—how have you transformed as an actor?" she highlighted that growth begins with opportunity.
Kubbra shared, "When an opportunity arises, it’s vital to seize it, as that’s where personal growth happens. For me, consistency, discipline, and passion have been crucial. I've always had this inner clarity—'this is what I want to achieve.'"
She expressed that from the moment she relocated to Mumbai, she understood her true calling.
"Prior to that, I was following a conventional path. I held a lucrative job overseas and was thriving professionally, yet I often questioned—was I genuinely fulfilled?" she noted.
"Upon arriving here, my journey began to unfold meaningfully. When you engage consistently in what brings you joy, progress occurs naturally, step by step. The individuals I've collaborated with have motivated me and instilled courage within me. Honestly, the outcomes I’ve experienced have surpassed my wildest expectations. I am incredibly thankful," concluded Kubbra.
