New Delhi, Oct 16 (NationPress) Union Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Pralhad Joshi asserted that the state government is trying to impose constraints on the RSS to mask its shortcomings.
During a press conference in New Delhi on Thursday, Minister Joshi highlighted that the state’s atmosphere is decidedly shifting against the Congress government. He noted that discussions on the government’s failures, halted development, and internal discord within Congress are rampant.
“To divert attention from these issues, the government has orchestrated this conspiracy. We await any notice the Karnataka Congress government may issue against the RSS. Only then will we decide on our course of action. The RSS will first analyze the government’s measures and then determine its response,” he remarked.
He elaborated that a state minister had addressed the Chief Minister regarding the RSS, and the CM had also communicated with the state secretary.
“They are discussing implementing the Tamil Nadu model. Today, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil raised this in the cabinet meeting and is moving towards taking action,” he indicated.
Pointing out the government’s failures, several senior Congress leaders, including R.V. Deshpande, Basavaraj Rayareddy, and MLA Raju Kage, have openly voiced their discontent. “To cover these issues, the state government is hastily targeting the RSS and trying to redirect the conversation,” Joshi alleged.
“Last year, when legislators revolted against the government, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah pledged to release Rs 25 crore for each constituency and additional funding for road development. But where is this funding? Not even enough money to mend potholes has been allocated,” he claimed.
He mentioned that prior to assuming power, the government had promised 200 units of free electricity to everyone.
“However, they later imposed an additional 10 percent charge on usage, deceiving the public. Their promises remain unfulfilled. The Supreme Court has explicitly instructed the government to conduct elections for the BBMP. Aside from a few allocated grants, no funds for development in any constituency have been released. They haven’t even paid local body employees' salaries,” he stated.
He noted that meanwhile, citizens are facing the burden of rising prices. Fees for obtaining birth and death certificates have also increased.
“To distract from all this, the government is attempting to control the activities of the RSS. However, the RSS will not yield to such tactics,” he alleged.
Prior to this, the Karnataka government mandated that all private organizations seek prior approval from relevant government authorities before hosting events.
This decision follows Minister Priyank Kharge’s demand to prohibit the RSS from operating in public spaces.
