While attending the 55th anniversary of the Gaden Shartse Thoesam Norling School in the Tibetan Colony of Mundgod, Minister for School Education and Literacy, Madhu Bangarappa, made this declaration.
In his address, Bangarappa reaffirmed the state administration's ongoing support for the Tibetan populace, highlighting it as both a duty and an honor.
He expressed his best wishes to students for a future grounded in education, peace, and essential human values.
Paying homage to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the Minister sent special greetings to the attendees, including monks, students, educators, and dignitaries.
He characterized education as a limitless force that surpasses language, religion, and national boundaries, asserting that sustainable peace and progress can only be achieved through education and human values.
Bangarappa highlighted the Karnataka government’s dedication to inclusive education, detailing various welfare programs introduced by the School Education Department. These initiatives encompass mid-day meals, milk, eggs, ragi malt, as well as free textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, shoes, and socks for students.
He noted that approximately 1.16 crore students across government, aided, and private schools benefit from the state's educational framework.
Additionally, the Minister reiterated the reintroduction of “Moral Science” as a mandatory subject for the upcoming academic year, aimed at enhancing human values, civic responsibility, health awareness, environmental sensitivity, and ethical living among students.
During the event, Bangarappa awarded certificates of recognition to esteemed officials, educators, and supporters for their significant contributions to education and community service.
