Bengaluru, May 12 (NationPress) The Karnataka government has unveiled a new college portal, the KEA mobile app, and the KEA Chatbot aimed at ensuring transparency in the selection process for candidates aspiring to enroll in professional courses via the Common Entrance Test (CET).
During a launch event at the Bengaluru Higher Education Council, Minister for Higher Education M.C. Sudhakar introduced these innovative tools developed by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).
After the event, Minister Sudhakar shared on X: “The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has initiated innovative tools — the College Portal, KEA mobile app, and KEA Chatbot — to enhance the transparency of the seat selection process for professional courses for the academic year 2025–26. I encourage students to download the app to leverage its features.”
With this launch, candidates preparing for the CET can now conveniently submit their applications through the mobile app. Previously, many candidates faced challenges while applying from cyber centers, resulting in missed opportunities due to technical issues.
To address these concerns, KEA has introduced the new app and portals, providing candidates with access to comprehensive information regarding application issues, college details, fee structures, hostel charges, and available facilities.
Furthermore, candidates can access syllabus details and apply for UG-CET, PG-CET, and the Diploma Common Entrance Test (DCET).
The CET serves as a state-level examination for admissions into a variety of professional courses, including engineering, medical, and agricultural programs.
Earlier, Minister Sudhakar had also announced a user-friendly CET application process tailored for rural candidates, enabling them to apply via mobile phones without the necessity of visiting cyber centers.
Additionally, Sudhakar introduced a ‘one-time registration’ system for recruitment exams, allowing candidates to register once and reuse their credentials for future exams, thus simplifying the application process and minimizing repetitive paperwork.
This year's CET examination faced considerable backlash in Karnataka after students were instructed to remove their sacred threads before entering examination halls. The Congress-led government subsequently issued an apology regarding the incident and suspended the personnel responsible at the exam centers.
