Karnataka launches 'Adidvara' app for PwD employment and skilling

Karnataka Minister for Skill Development and Medical Education Sharan Prakash R. Patil on Thursday, 7 May 2025, launched the 'Adidvara' app — a first-of-its-kind inclusive employment and skilling platform built with accessibility at its core — at a ceremony held at Vikasa Soudha in Bengaluru. The platform was developed in association with the AssisTech Foundation (ATF) and is designed to connect persons with disabilities (PwDs) with employment opportunities, internships, and skilling programmes.

What Adidvara Offers

The Adidvara platform serves as a two-sided marketplace: PwDs can access employment opportunities, internships, and upskilling pathways, while employers can post inclusive job roles and tap into a diverse talent pool. At its core is an AI-powered job-candidate matching engine that aligns a candidate's skills, interests, and accessibility requirements with suitable roles — a structural shift from generic job portals that rarely account for disability-specific needs.

The platform covers all 21 notified disability categories, making it one of the most comprehensive inclusive hiring tools launched by any Indian state government to date.

Exclusive PwD Job Fair Announced for August 2026

Minister Patil also announced an exclusive job fair for persons with disabilities, scheduled for August 2026 at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. The event is envisioned as a large-scale inclusive employment and skilling festival, bringing together job-ready PwDs, employers, training partners, and assistive technology start-ups under one roof.

More than 3,000 job seekers with disabilities are expected to attend. The fair will feature direct recruitment drives, career guidance sessions, skill pathway awareness programmes, and technology showcases. Employers from sectors including information technology (IT), retail, manufacturing, banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), hospitality, and services are expected to participate.

At the launch event, Minister Patil also unveiled the official logo for the upcoming job fair, signalling the Karnataka government's commitment to building an inclusive workforce ecosystem in the state.
