Shivamogga, May 28 (NationPress) Karnataka's Minister for Health, Dinesh Gundu Rao, has openly criticized the BJP following the murder of a member of a minority community in the tension-prone Mangaluru district. He accused the party of exploiting the tragedy for political gain.

“When it comes to murderers, we should not consider caste or religion. Our government has conducted a fair investigation into the recent murders in Mangaluru and is taking appropriate legal actions. No matter who the perpetrators are or how powerful they may be, the police have been instructed to apprehend them and utilize all necessary legal measures,” Minister Rao emphasized.

He confirmed that the identities of the individuals responsible for the murder of Abdul Raheem, who was killed in Koltamajal near Bantwal on Tuesday, have been established, and the police are set to proceed with legal action.

The minister assured that strict measures have been enforced in Mangaluru to prevent any further incidents. “The culprits behind the murder of the innocent Mohammed Ashraf have been detained, and in the case of the rowdy sheeter Suhas Shetty, the offenders have also been located and apprehended. I am confident that the police will similarly identify those involved in Abdul Raheem’s murder,” he stated.

To avert more retaliatory violence in the coastal area, the government is establishing a Communal Crime Control Force, and the Anti-Communal Force will commence operations shortly.

The atmosphere in the communally sensitive Mangaluru district and coastal Karnataka remains charged following the murder of a 34-year-old man within the Bantwal Rural Police Station's jurisdiction on Wednesday.
