Bengaluru, May 7 (NationPress) Karnataka's Home Minister, G. Parameshwara, affirmed on Wednesday that we are implementing every possible measure to guarantee civilian safety. Teams from the Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services (KSFES) have been stationed at crucial sites, such as power facilities, dams, and airports.
Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Minister Parameshwara’s remarks came in light of 'Operation Sindoor,' which was executed against Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam terror incident that claimed 26 lives.
He noted that directives have already been issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Defence. “The state Intelligence unit has been instructed to maintain ongoing collaboration with central Intelligence agencies,” he mentioned.
Minister Parameshwara elaborated, “Locations already secured by central forces will remain under their guardianship. We will manage the territories under our control. I have instructed police forces to enforce all necessary precautions.”
In response to inquiries regarding the expulsion of Pakistani citizens, he remarked, “Pakistani nationals have been identified and repatriated. We are coordinating with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), and further actions will follow based on the intelligence they provide.”
He also announced that a civil defense drill is scheduled for today at 4 PM.
Reflecting on the military action, Minister Parameshwara stated, “The entire nation stands behind the Indian defense forces in executing strikes against Pakistan-based terrorist camps.”
He expressed, “In light of the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, we collectively back this retaliatory measure. To protect national interests, we must remain united. The entire populace will support the country's defense forces.”
When questioned about the annulment of a planned protest rally against the Center by the Congress party in Raichur, Minister Parameshwara stated, “National security supersedes all other events”. This is why the Chief Minister chose to cancel it. “When the nation’s safety is compromised, any minor disputes or disagreements among us should be put aside. We must unite for the defense of the country.”
