Varanasi, Feb 15 (NationPress) The eagerly awaited Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS) 3.0 was officially launched on Saturday, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan attending as chief guests. This inauguration is a significant milestone as delegates from Tamil Nadu have assembled in Varanasi to honor the deep cultural connections between Tamil Nadu and Kashi, while also exploring historical sites such as Kashi Vishwanath, Prayagraj, and Ayodhya.

For numerous residents of Tamil Nadu, this gathering represents a long-anticipated opportunity.

In a conversation with IANS, Pavitra, a delegate from Coimbatore, shared her excitement: “I am overjoyed to witness the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj and Varanasi for the very first time. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I’m thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, IIT Madras, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and the Ministry of Education for enabling this. Experiencing these sacred locations after 144 years feels like an immense blessing.”

Manasa Shri from Kanchipuram expressed her enthusiasm about discovering the cultural wealth of both Kashi and Tamil Nadu.

“I consider myself fortunate to be present in Kashi, experiencing the traditions and sacredness of this area. In the days ahead, we will visit significant landmarks like the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Maha Kumbh, and Ayodhya. It’s an extraordinary chance to immerse ourselves in the culture of both regions,” she commented.

For Gopi, a teacher who participated in the event, the journey to Kashi has been enlightening.

“I have gained substantial insight into the historical ties between Kashi and Tamil Nadu. Prime Minister Modi has frequently discussed these connections, including the naming of temples after Kashi Vishwanath in Tamil Nadu. It’s a proud occasion for all of us to partake in this cultural exchange,” he noted.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted the importance of KTS 3.0 in reinforcing the cultural bond between the two regions.

“The vision of Prime Minister Modi is to foster a unified India, where cultural exchanges like KTS 3.0 unite people. This initiative aims to enhance the cultural fabric of our nation as we delve into the shared heritage between Kashi and Tamil Nadu, from Rishi Agastya’s contributions to Tamil grammar to his impact on Vedic mantras,” he stated.

The KTS 3.0, executed by the Ministry of Education in partnership with various state and national entities, will take place from February 15 to 24, 2025. This cultural celebration aims to gather scholars, artists, students, and individuals from diverse backgrounds to share, learn, and commemorate the ancient connections between Tamil Nadu and Kashi, thereby promoting the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ and fostering cultural unity.

This year’s event is particularly significant, as participants will witness the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj and visit the newly inaugurated Ram Mandir in Ayodhya for the first time. This 10-day event will conclude on February 24.
