Kerala Court Delivers Harsh Sentence of 111 Years to Tuition Teacher for Assaulting Student

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 31 (NationPress) A special fast-track court located in the capital of Kerala has issued a sentence of 111 years of rigorous imprisonment to a state government employee who provided tuition services after he was found guilty of raping a Class 11 student.

Judge R. Rekha of the special court also imposed a fine of Rs 1.05 lakh on the offender, identified as Manoj, aged 44. If the fine is not paid, he will face an additional year in prison.

While delivering the verdict, the judge emphasized that the perpetrator must be shown no mercy for his heinous crime.

The incident took place on July 2, 2019, around 11 a.m. Manoj had summoned the girl to his residence for a special session and subsequently assaulted her, even filming the act. This was not the first attempt at molestation, as he had previously tried to harm the young girl but was unsuccessful.

After this traumatic event, the girl ceased attending his tuition classes out of fear.

Eventually, Manoj's wife discovered the incident and confronted the girl at their home, expressing her fury.

Following this confrontation, tensions arose between Manoj and his wife, leading to her tragic suicide.

Subsequently, a video involving Manoj and the girl emerged publicly, prompting her parents to file a formal complaint with the police, resulting in his arrest.

Throughout the trial, Manoj attempted to assert his innocence by presenting evidence to prove he was elsewhere during the incident; however, the prosecution's evidence, particularly his mobile records, indicated that he was indeed present in the area at the relevant time.
