Jaipur, Nov 27 (NationPress) In a significant achievement, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Rajasthan has successfully apprehended Pradeep Gurjar, an important member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and the notorious leader of the '6161 gang'.

As reported by officials, Pradeep, son of Data Ram and a resident of Rawaton Ki Dhani, Ward No. 15, Kotputli, was captured in an upscale housing society in Gurugram during a meticulously orchestrated operation. Dinesh MN, the Additional Director General of Police for the AGTF, stated that the 6161 gang is notorious for extensive extortion activities, particularly targeting hotel proprietors along major highways.

This arrest represents a crucial victory in the state’s ongoing battle against organized crime and the expanding influence of the Bishnoi gang.

The gang’s origins can be traced back to Bhilwara, initially led by Hari Tanwar and later taken over by Vinod Mandli.

In this criminal network, Pradeep Gurjar served as a vital link to Sachin Thapan, a close ally of the gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He was instrumental in recruiting young individuals from Kotputli, Behror, Bansur, Bhilwara, and Gurgaon.

The gang instilled fear by firing at hotels along highways and subsequently sending extortion demands to business owners.

Pradeep has over three dozen criminal cases against him, including bank robbery, extortion, murder, attempted murder, and armed robbery. He has seven pending cases, and the Kotputli Superintendent of Police had announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for his capture.

Under the leadership of ADG Dinesh MN and the oversight of Additional SP Siddhant Sharma, a dedicated team led by Inspector Ram Singh was assembled to locate the criminal. Following precise intelligence gathered by Head Constable Sudhir Kumar, the team executed a covert mission in Gurugram.

The operation was highly demanding—officers examined nearly 150 CCTV recordings and conducted thorough ground surveillance. Ultimately, Pradeep was tracked to a residence in the luxurious MR Palm Hill society within the jurisdiction of the Kherki Daula police station. To maintain discretion, AGTF personnel positioned themselves at various checkpoints throughout the society.

Head Constable Sudhir, disguised as a security guard, diligently observed movements and relayed real-time updates.

Upon confirming the suspect's location, the team executed a rapid raid and successfully captured Pradeep at the flat. The suspect was subsequently transported back to Kotputli and handed over to local authorities. Officials indicated that intensive questioning is ongoing, with further disclosures regarding the gang’s operations anticipated.

This operation was carried out under the direction of Additional SP Siddhant Sharma and Inspector Ram Singh Nathawat, with notable contributions from Head Constable Sudhir Kumar—who played a pivotal undercover role—along with Head Constable Mahesh Somra, Hemant Sharma, Constable Jitendra Kumar, Driver Constable Dinesh Sharma, SI Banwari Lal Sharma, Pratap Singh, Head Constable Mahavir Singh, Constable Devendra Singh, Gopal Dhabai, Vijay Singh, and Ganga Ram.
