According to Defence spokesman Lt Col Mahendra Rawat, the event served as a reunion for nine former Corps Commanders of the Spear Corps, blending leadership, tradition, and military insight.
The proceedings were graced by the General-Officer-Commanding (GOC)-in-C Eastern Command, Lt Gen R.C. Tiwari, whose insights motivated everyone present. The event was organized by Lt Gen Abhijit S Pendharkar, the General-Officer-Commanding of the Spear Corps, who facilitated the events with professional warmth and a strong sense of camaraderie.
As part of the three-day conclave, which took place from November 25-27, a solemn wreath-laying ceremony was held at the War Memorial to honor the fallen heroes of the Spear Corps. This was followed by the lively cultural program titled Mosaic of NE, which celebrated the rich heritage of Northeast India through various performances.
The distinguished veterans also attended the unveiling of the Spear Chronicles and observed the latest technological advancements on display at the Corps headquarters Complex. A commemorative group photograph was taken on the Corps lawns.
The conclave significantly strengthened intergenerational ties, celebrated the legacy of past leaders, and reaffirmed the enduring spirit, values, and operational excellence of the Spear Corps. Lt Col Rawat mentioned that as part of the AROHAN Project initiated by the Assam government, the Army Recruiting Office (ARO) Narangi, under ZRO Shillong, organized a comprehensive career motivational lecture at Brahmaputra hall, Narangi Cantonment, on Thursday.
This initiative was designed to guide and inspire students about the various career opportunities within the Indian Army.
The event saw enthusiastic participation, with 297 students and 26 teachers from Sivasagar, Sonitpur, and Udalguri districts attending the session, stated the spokesman.
