Bengaluru, Oct 1 (NationPress) Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has successfully completed a scheduled pacemaker implantation at a private medical facility in Bengaluru on Wednesday. His family has confirmed that he will be back to work on October 3.
Priyank Kharge, the Minister for RDPR, IT and BT and son of Mallikarjun Kharge, released a statement to the media. He took to social media platform X to share, "The pacemaker implantation for Kharge was successfully carried out earlier today. It was a brief and uncomplicated procedure, and he is stable following the operation."
"He is anticipated to return to his duties on October 3 and participate in all planned appointments. We are thankful for the concern, support, and affection shown by everyone," he mentioned.
On Tuesday, Mallikarjun Kharge was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru for the scheduled pacemaker procedure, as confirmed by his son and Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge.
Priyank Kharge, responsible for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, IT/BT, stated that the Congress president was recommended to undergo the procedure due to symptoms including fever, fatigue, and leg discomfort.
Mallikarjun Kharge is currently receiving treatment at MS Ramaiah Hospital in Bengaluru.
"Mallikarjun Kharge has been instructed to have a pacemaker implanted and has been admitted for the procedure. He is stable and recovering well. We sincerely appreciate your concern and best wishes," Priyank Kharge expressed.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited the Congress president at the hospital on Wednesday, where he checked on Kharge’s health and wished him a swift recovery.
After his visit, Siddaramaiah told the press that Kharge had gone for a routine check-up due to some minor discomfort.
