Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy inaugurated the newly constructed Komuravelli Mallanna Railway Station in Siddipet district, Telangana, on Sunday, 27 July 2026, following a visit to the renowned Komuravelli Mallanna temple. The station has been built to improve rail access for pilgrims travelling to the prominent Shiva shrine. Reddy shared visuals from the inauguration on social media, tagging South Central Railway.

In his post, the minister wrote in Telugu: 'నిన్న కొమురవెల్లి మల్లన్న స్వామిని దర్శించుకుని భక్తుల సౌకర్యార్థం నూతనంగా నిర్మించిన కొమురవెల్లి మల్లన్న రైల్వే స్టేషన్‌ను ప్రారంభించాను' — translating to: 'Yesterday I visited Komuravelli Mallanna Swami and inaugurated the newly constructed Komuravelli Mallanna Railway Station built for the convenience of devotees.'

Context

The Komuravelli Mallanna temple in Siddipet district is one of Telangana's most visited pilgrimage sites, drawing large crowds of devotees — particularly during the annual jatara (festival). Until now, pilgrims travelling from across the state and beyond had limited direct rail connectivity to the temple precinct, relying largely on road transport for the final stretch of their journey.

The inauguration of a dedicated railway station marks a significant improvement in last-mile connectivity for the hundreds of thousands of devotees who visit the shrine each year.
