The facility is located in Bhogapuram, Vizianagaram district, and is designed to serve the broader Visakhapatnam region, one of Andhra Pradesh's most economically active corridors.

Andhra Pradesh's Post-Bifurcation Infrastructure Push

When Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated in 2014, the state lost its capital and its largest city, Hyderabad, to the newly formed Telangana.
