Kolkata Authorities Identify Suspect in Gruesome Case of Woman's Severed Head Found in Trash

Kolkata, Dec 14 (NationPress) In less than 24 hours, the special investigations team (SIT) of the Kolkata Police has successfully unraveled the enigma surrounding the finding of a severed head of a woman in a garbage dump at Golf Green in South Kolkata.
Authorities managed to identify and apprehend the main suspect, Atikur Lashkar, early Saturday morning. Lashkar, who hails from Magrahat in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, is currently undergoing interrogation by investigative officials, according to police sources.
The victim, whose severed head was discovered on Friday morning, has been identified as Khadija Biwi, also a resident of Magrahat.
According to reports, the SIT officers scrutinized the CCTV footage from the area and noticed suspicious behavior from Lashkar late Thursday night. The location data from his mobile phone corroborated his presence in Golf Green that same evening.
After confirming that Lashkar was hiding in Magrahat, the SIT team proceeded there late Friday night and successfully detained him early the following morning.
Investigators are currently questioning Lashkar to uncover how he was connected to the victim, the whereabouts of her body, and the motive behind such a heinous act.
The gruesome discovery was initially made by individuals out for a morning walk on Friday, who spotted the severed head in the garbage and promptly notified the police. Following a preliminary investigation, the police established an SIT with officers from three different police stations, including the local precinct.
