On Thursday, Vijayendra remarked, "The administration led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has propelled the nation to the forefront of progress while navigating global challenges. Concurrently, it has rolled out numerous initiatives aimed at economically empowering the most marginalized groups within society. These endeavors actively support the vision of a self-reliant and developed India."
He expressed gratitude to the government, on behalf of the citizens, for presenting a Diwali and Dussehra gift by unveiling new GST rates, emphasizing that "raising taxes is not our focus; our priority is to reduce them,” he stated.
According to him, these reforms will positively impact the nation’s farmers, small and middle-class families, women, and youth. Additionally, they will facilitate small traders and entrepreneurs in conducting their businesses, thereby fortifying the nation’s economy. The aim of these reforms is to simplify the lives of ordinary citizens and enhance the business environment for small enterprises, asserted Vijayendra.
The Leader of Opposition in the Assembly, R. Ashoka, stated, "The government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is delivering a significant Dussehra-Diwali gift to the public through GST reductions."
"By lowering GST across various sectors—including essential goods, healthcare, vehicles, and personal insurance—the Modi-led government has provided substantial benefits to the general populace. This groundbreaking decision to reduce GST rates and streamline processes will greatly assist the poor and middle class, injecting fresh energy into the economy," Ashoka elaborated.
He pointed out that GST on medications, healthcare devices, and personal health insurance has seen a reduction from 18 percent to just 5 percent, responding to public demands.
These landmark GST reforms stand as further evidence of the people-centric and citizen-friendly governance of the esteemed Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government, he concluded.
Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, remarked, "The Modi government has made a pivotal decision to decrease the tax from 28 percent to 18 percent and reduce many items previously under 18 percent and 12 percent to just 5 percent, simplifying life for the public. This measure will help lower household expenses and enhance the quality of life for everyday citizens."
"Gratitude is owed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for exemplifying people-centric governance once again," Narayanaswamy stated.
Former Deputy CM and BJP MLA C.N. Ashwath Narayan affirmed, "The Modi government has gifted the people of the country. The decision to cut the tax from 28 percent to 18 percent, alongside bringing many items from the 18 percent and 12 percent brackets down to just 5 percent, is making daily life easier for the public.
