Bengaluru, June 24 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, had a significant meeting with President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi, where he presented the renowned traditional 'Mysuru Peta' to her.
During this meeting, the Chief Minister also addressed the pending bills awaiting approval from the President.
Post-meeting, Siddaramaiah remarked: "Today at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi, I had a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu to discuss the bills pending approval. I also had the honor of presenting the iconic Mysuru Peta along with a sandalwood gift, symbolizing Karnataka's pride."
Joining the meeting were key figures such as State Public Works Department Minister Satish Jarkiholi, Social Welfare Minister H.C. Mahadevappa, Energy Minister K.J. George, and State Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh.
Seven legislative proposals passed by the Congress-led government in Karnataka are currently awaiting presidential approval.
These include: The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Karnataka Amendment) Bill, 2015; The Karnataka (Mineral Rights and Mineral Bearing Land) Tax Bill, 2024; The Notaries (Karnataka Amendment) Bill, 2025; and The Registration (Karnataka Amendment) Bill, 2025.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister reviewed the contentious Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurements (Amendment) Act, 2025, aimed at providing a four percent reservation for Muslims in government contracts, and the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments (Amendment) Act, 2024, which seeks to regulate temples.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah arrived in Delhi on Monday evening.
Moreover, he met with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday afternoon.
During discussions, CM Siddaramaiah urged the Central government for a fair allocation of funds to Karnataka under the 16th Finance Commission, emphasizing that the state has incurred a loss of approximately Rs 80,000 crore compared to the 14th Finance Commission.
It is anticipated that he will continue discussions on this matter with Finance Minister Sitharaman.
Earlier, CM Siddaramaiah had a brief encounter with Bollywood star Aamir Khan at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday morning, where they exchanged greetings and best wishes.
According to the Chief Minister's Office, "During his visit to Rashtrapati Bhavan for the meeting with the President, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had a short but friendly interaction with Bollywood actor-director Aamir Khan, where they exchanged pleasantries and well wishes."
Upon noticing Aamir Khan, Siddaramaiah waved, and Khan reciprocated with folded hands, offering his best wishes. They then shook hands and engaged in a brief, friendly conversation.
