Hyderabad, Aug 14 (NationPress) BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao claimed that the economy of Telangana is on the brink of collapse due to ineffective governance by the Congress party.
Expressing his worries about the state experiencing negative inflation for two consecutive months, the leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) lamented that a state which flourished under the leadership of party President and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been economically devastated within just 18 months of Congress governance.
KTR, as he is popularly known, attributed this dire situation to the chaotic economic policies of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's administration.
He noted that for the first time in Telangana’s history, negative inflation was recorded in June and July. Specifically, in July, the inflation rate was recorded at (-) 0.44 percent, compared to the national average of 2.10 percent. Similarly, in June, Telangana’s inflation was at (-) 0.93 percent while the national average was 1.55 percent. He pointed out that deflation is even more severe in rural regions.
KTR emphasized that contrary to common belief, a decline in inflation is not necessarily a good sign; in this instance, it poses a significant threat to the state's economy. He indicated that residents are only purchasing essentials while business, trade, and industrial activities have ground to a halt.
Citing economic experts, he stated that the absence of new job opportunities and the slowdown in economic activities are the principal causes of this predicament and urged the government to heed their warnings.
KTR criticized the Revanth Reddy administration for effectively paralyzing economic activities. He remarked, “It is disheartening to witness Telangana, which was once the fastest-growing state in the nation, now regressing. Under the directionless Congress regime, a once-thriving economy is being dismantled.” He condemned the government as a “hopeless administration with hopeless governance.”
Additionally, he accused the Congress party of misleading the populace with unrealistic promises, raising false hopes, and ultimately betraying them. He claimed that the government lacks a coherent plan for job creation.
Reflecting on the BRS government's accomplishments, he noted that Telangana had experienced remarkable growth in the IT, pharmaceutical, and real estate sectors, but asserted that these sectors have now deteriorated under Congress rule.
KTR called for the government to implement immediate and effective measures to revive the economy, advocating for the initiation of economic reforms and job creation programs without delay to safeguard the state’s future.
