Patna, April 10 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Bihar and leader of the Janata Dal (United), Nitish Kumar, is set to take his oath as a Rajya Sabha member today.

On Thursday, both Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar, Vijay Kumar Sinha and Samrat Choudhary, made their way to the national capital and are expected to be present during the swearing-in ceremony.

After his election to the Rajya Sabha, Kumar tendered his resignation from the Bihar Legislative Council (MLC) on March 30.

Upon his arrival in New Delhi on Thursday, Nitish Kumar disclosed that he intends to resign from his position as Chief Minister shortly.

When asked about his decision, he remarked, “I have achieved significant milestones in Bihar. Now, I believe it is time to focus my efforts here.”

He added, “I plan to resign within three to four days. New individuals will be designated as Chief Minister and Ministers.”

Nitish Kumar was joined by Sanjay Jha, the National Working President of Janata Dal (United), along with Bihar's minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary.

Earlier, Jha had indicated that the formation of a new government in Bihar would commence post-April 13.

Kumar’s recent statements have clarified that the leadership transition is on the horizon.

In the meantime, Bihar Minister Vijay Choudhary affirmed that the entire NDA, including leaders from the BJP and its allies, is united in promoting Nitish Kumar’s governance strategy.

“We will persist with the ‘Nitish Model’ that has led to substantial growth in Bihar over the past twenty years. This legacy will shape our future endeavors,” he stated.

Following his swearing-in ceremony, Nitish Kumar is anticipated to engage in a pivotal meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi to outline the framework for the upcoming government in Bihar.

According to insiders, key NDA leaders are likely to finalize the next Chief Minister’s name and distribute ministerial roles during this meeting, highlighting its importance.
