New Delhi, Nov 10 (NationPress) Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Labour, Employment, Youth Affairs, and Sports, held a meeting with Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan at the Parliament House on Monday, as confirmed by an official source.
During this important meeting, the Vice President was informed about significant initiatives and ongoing projects from the respective Ministries, as said by the official.
As he prepares to attend his inaugural Parliament session starting December 1, the Vice President has been actively engaging with various Ministers and officials.
Previously, Dr Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, along with senior officials from the Ministries, also met with the Vice President.
In this meeting, the Vice President was briefed on efforts to enhance scientific research and innovation, technology development and commercialization, advancements in biotechnology, quantum computing, cybersecurity systems, along with meteorological services, climate and ocean studies, and disaster risk mitigation.
Radhakrishnan praised the Ministries for their contributions in fortifying India’s innovation-driven scientific ecosystem and fostering research in cutting-edge technologies.
He acknowledged India's remarkable improvement in the Global Innovation Index, climbing from the 81st position in 2015 to the 38th position in 2025, highlighting the increase in patents, scientific publications, and technology-driven growth.
He commended the country’s advancements in vaccine development, the BharatGenAI large language model, and progress in quantum computing.
The Vice President also stressed the significance of ethical biotechnology research, encouraging youth to pursue careers in science, and promoting greater collaboration with industry.
In addition, he pointed out rapid advances in weather forecasting and the extensive potential of India’s blue economy, advocating for ongoing global partnerships to keep India at the forefront of scientific progress.
Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also visited the Vice President.
On social media, the Vice President shared that he received updates on the operations, key initiatives, and upcoming plans of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture.
Radhakrishnan remarked that discussions revolved around bolstering the tourism and hospitality sectors, enhancing international cooperation, creating jobs, and showcasing India’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
