New Delhi, Nov 11 (NationPress) In a significant operation, authorities apprehended two individuals and confiscated approximately 50-60 kilograms of explosives following raids conducted in Sector 56 of Haryana's Faridabad, officials reported on Tuesday.
This incident comes just a day after a devastating explosion occurred on Monday evening near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi. A Haryana-registered vehicle, a Hyundai i20, parked adjacent to Gate No.1 of the station detonated, resulting in at least eight fatalities and numerous injuries.
The Crime Branch executed this extensive operation in Faridabad's Sector 56, successfully recovering around 50 to 60 kg of explosive materials, along with the arrest of two suspects.
This operation is also linked to the recent dismantling of a terror network associated with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, where police seized 2,900 kg of explosives along with a substantial stockpile of arms and ammunition.
Additionally, police have detained two doctors from Jammu & Kashmir, Adil Ahmad Rather and Muzammil, connected to these terror groups. Sources indicate that their arrests may have triggered panic within the terror module, ultimately leading to the blast.
A case has been registered under sections 16 and 18 of the UAPA, along with relevant provisions of the Explosives Act and multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The Home Ministry has assigned the investigation of the Delhi blast to the National Investigative Agency (NIA), following Union Home Minister Amit Shah's review of the ongoing investigation, emphasizing Prime Minister Modi's commitment to seeking justice.
As part of enhanced security protocols, the Delhi Police have temporarily closed Gate Nos. 1 and 4 of the Lal Qila Metro Station for public access due to ongoing security operations in the vicinity.
Authorities are diligently piecing together the timeline of events leading up to the blast, assuring that all potential leads are being thoroughly investigated.
