Chandigarh, Sep 12 (NationPress) The Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, alongside Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is set to unveil the extensive 'Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan' in Rohtak on September 17. This marks a pivotal moment in Haryana's ongoing dedication to public health and women's well-being.
The launch is strategically aligned with a nationwide initiative introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Madhya Pradesh on his birthday.
A crucial meeting led by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi took place on Friday to assess the preparations for the event.
Special health kiosks will be established at the MDU campus in Rohtak, offering comprehensive health assessments for women, including screenings for hypertension, cancer, anemia, and other lifestyle-related ailments.
Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Sudhir Rajpal indicated that the campaign will greatly enhance healthcare access with 122 specialized health camps across all Community Health Centres (CHCs) in Haryana. These camps will provide services in gynaecology, pediatrics, eye care, ENT, dental care, dermatology, and psychiatry, aiming to assist 300 patients per camp.
Noteworthy features include the distribution of 75,000 free spectacles statewide to promote eye health, the inauguration of 75 new obesity clinics to tackle lifestyle diseases, and 696 blood donation camps across 138 blood banks, with comprehensive screenings at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, serving 50-100 patients daily during the campaign.
The initiative will also host a major plantation drive, planting 50,000 saplings across healthcare facilities.
In addition, a thorough Swachhata Abhiyaan will be implemented to enhance healthcare environments throughout the state. This healthcare transformation will be carried out through a structured approach at state, district, and block levels.
Civil surgeons, medical colleges, and professional associations like IMA, IAP, and FOGSI, along with self-help groups, will work together in a broad public-private partnership.
The Women and Child Development Department will actively engage by setting up stalls and launching complementary initiatives such as Poshan Abhiyaan and Special Immunisation Week. These efforts will prioritize improving maternal and child health, nutrition awareness, and preventive care.
