Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Inspects MBS Hospital in Kota

Jaipur, Jan 3 (NationPress) On Thursday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla undertook a comprehensive examination of MBS Hospital, assessing the new block, old building, and surrounding facilities close to JK Lone Hospital in Kota.
Joined by hospital management, Kota Development Authority (KDA), and local officials, the inspection extended for nearly two hours.
Emphasizing the necessity to improve emergency services, Birla proposed the inclusion of neurology and cardiology departments in the emergency wing, which presently accommodates only medicine, surgery, and orthopaedic services.
He expressed significant concern regarding the lack of an oxygen line in the medicine ICU of the new block and the absence of air conditioning in the waiting area. He instructed the hospital administration to resolve these issues promptly.
The Speaker called on the municipal corporation to enhance cleanliness in the hospital area and ensure consistent monitoring.
He also mandated KDA officials to devise a strategy for better utilization of underused spaces within the hospital premises to optimize the available infrastructure.
Moreover, Birla reviewed the new IPD block with Medical Minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar, stressing the immediate need to tackle staffing deficiencies.
The Speaker directed officials to renovate the old wards and corridors, enlarge the central laboratory, and implement other crucial upgrades.
He highlighted the necessity of providing adequate guidance for patients at the OPD counter to avoid confusion and guarantee smooth navigation throughout the hospital.
Birla also advised establishing a specific area for stretchers and ensuring instant arrangements during emergencies.
He instructed the hospital administration to formulate a proposal for the installation of an MRI machine at MBS Hospital.
Pointing out the current reliance on the medical college for MRI services, he noted that having this facility within MBS Hospital would greatly alleviate patient burdens and lessen travel challenges.
Through these recommendations, Speaker Birla highlighted the urgency for swift action to enhance patient care and the overall efficiency of the hospital.
