Bhopal, Feb 19 (NationPress) A series of unfortunate incidents on the roads of Madhya Pradesh have resulted in multiple fatalities and injuries, as confirmed by an official on Wednesday.

A speeding bus collided with a tractor-trolley in the Kailaras police station jurisdiction of Morena, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and leaving eight others critically injured.

The collision occurred near Sant Nagar on the national highway, where several people were returning home on a tractor.

A passenger bus traveling from Sabalgarh town crashed into a tractor, creating chaos on the roadway. Bystanders quickly alerted the authorities and assisted in rescuing the passengers. Fortunately, all individuals aboard the bus were unharmed.

The injured were transported to the government-operated Kailaras hospital.

In a separate incident on the same day, a couple from Maharashtra tragically lost their lives when their vehicle collided with a stationary truck around 1.40 p.m. near Naraura village in Maihar tehsil along national highway number 30.

This accident occurred as the couple and their family were returning to Mumbai from the Mahakumbh at Prayagraj.

Three other family members suffered serious injuries and were admitted to a medical facility. The victims included Sunil Kumar Upadhyay (62), his wife Sarojita Upadhyay (56), and their daughter Sneha Upadhyay (28).

Another incident on the Sandalpur-Nasrullaganj road in Khategaon, Dewas district, resulted in the deaths of a couple. A car crashed into a truck, instantly killing the couple from Mumbai and injuring three other family members.

The deceased, Prashant and Hemal, were seated in the rear of the vehicle.

Their remains were sent for post-mortem, while the injured were rushed to a hospital in Indore.

The family had set out on a pilgrimage to Omkareshwar after attending the Mahakumbh, only for their journey to end in tragedy.

Yet another accident resulted in one death and left twenty-two others severely injured when a bus transporting Mahakumbh devotees to Prayagraj from Jagdalpur (Chhattisgarh) crashed into a stationary truck on the Chhattisgarh-Madhya Pradesh border late Tuesday night, according to police sources.

This incident occurred near Kahairjhiti village close to Vyankat Nagar.

A police team from Anuppur district in Madhya Pradesh and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district in Chhattisgarh quickly responded to the scene to aid passengers.

The body of the deceased, a bus helper, was sent for post-mortem, while the injured were admitted to the Anuppur district hospital.
