A speeding truck, with its driver currently unidentified, collided with a motorcycle carrying a family of three before fleeing the scene. This collision was fatal for the husband and wife, who died on the spot, while their daughter suffered severe injuries.
She was taken to the district hospital for urgent care but, unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries.
Law enforcement officials have filed a report and launched a manhunt for the truck involved in this tragic accident.
“The accident transpired on Sunday noon, around 12:00–12:30 hrs on the Chhatarpur-Damoh highway. Three victims, 45-year-old Kadori Patel, his 40-year-old wife Yashoda Patel, and their 17-year-old daughter Aarti Patel, perished. They were heading back to Kishanganj village in Narsinghgarh after attending a wedding in Hathri village. While returning on Sunday afternoon, they were struck from behind by a reckless truck driver near Mara village, leaving all three gravely injured,” stated Praseeta Kurmi, the investigating officer, in an interview with IANS.
Local residents promptly alerted police and summoned an ambulance, taking the injured to the district hospital, where the doctor confirmed Kadori and Yashoda Patel dead upon arrival. Their remains have been sent to the hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.
Aarti, in critical condition, was transferred to the intensive care unit but could not survive her injuries.
