Madhya Pradesh to Build Gita Bhawans in Urban Areas, Says CM Yadav

Bhopal, Dec 9 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, declared on Monday that his administration plans to erect a Gita Bhawan in every urban area across the state within the next three years.

While addressing the 'Sant Sammelan' at the ongoing International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra, Haryana, Yadav emphasized the significant role of the Haryana government in this initiative and expressed a desire for Madhya Pradesh to participate in next year’s celebrations.

He also requested the organizers of the International Gita Mahotsav to include Madhya Pradesh in the virtual Gita recitation. More than 5000 priests are expected to recite the Gita at two major events in Bhopal and Ujjain on Gita Jayanti, which falls on December 11.

Additionally, he announced a plan to transform sites linked to Lord Krishna into pilgrimage destinations in Madhya Pradesh. This proposal was previously approved by the state Cabinet last month.

The state government has identified four notable locations where Lord Krishna is believed to have visited: Sandipani Ashram, Narayan Dham, Amjhera Dham, and Janapav Dham.

It is said that Lord Krishna learned at Sandipani Ashram in Ujjain.

Narayan Dham, located in Dhar district, celebrates the friendship between Lord Krishna and his impoverished friend Sudama.

Meanwhile, Amjhera Dham, also in Dhar district, is believed to be where Lord Krishna overcame Rukmini’s brother Rukmi to 'abduct' her with her consent.

Located in a village in Indore, Janapav Dham holds importance for devotees of Lord Shiva and the Pandavas. It is said that Lord Parashuram entrusted the Sudarshan Chakra to Lord Krishna at this site.

The initial announcement regarding the enhancement of these sites associated with Lord Krishna was made several months ago, and the Chief Minister instructed the Religious Department to carry out an extensive study and develop a comprehensive plan for these locations.
