Is a Madhya Pradesh Woman Airlifted to AIIMS for Tumour Treatment?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, Jan 8 (NationPress) In Madhya Pradesh, the PM Shri Air Ambulance Service is rapidly becoming a vital resource for delivering critical medical assistance. This service plays a pivotal role in airlifting patients during emergencies to guarantee they receive timely treatment.
In Dindori district, a 21-year-old woman named Kirti Chandel, who is fighting against an aggressive tumour, was airlifted to AIIMS Bhopal after a sudden decline in her health, causing significant distress to her family.
Previously, Kirti had been treated in her hometown for the same condition, but her situation deteriorated. She had undergone treatment for a round blue cell tumour at AIIMS Raipur before the disease reoccurred and worsened recently.
The illness rendered both of her legs non-functional, critically limiting her mobility and causing loss of bladder control, which required urgent hospitalization.
Her father expressed his gratitude to IANS, acknowledging the government's prompt assistance in facilitating the air ambulance service for their family at such a crucial time.
“I am thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav,” he stated, appreciating the government’s timely intervention.
Kirti's brother, Kamlesh, highlighted the difficulties of obtaining specialized medical care in a small town and expressed his appreciation for the airlift arranged during this urgent situation.
“Her tumour had been treated earlier, but it recurred and became more aggressive. With the help of the Chief Medical and Health Officer, she was airlifted to AIIMS Bhopal. We are grateful to the state government,” he mentioned.
Dr. Manoj Pandey, the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) at Dindori District Hospital, informed IANS that Kirti had been diagnosed with a round blue cell tumour and had previously received treatment at AIIMS Raipur.
“For the last 10 days, her condition has been critical as the tumour reemerged, leaving both her legs inactive and leading to loss of bladder control,” Dr. Pandey stated.
He also reassured the family that treatment at AIIMS Bhopal would be provided at no cost, as Kirti is enrolled in the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which covers all hospital expenses.
The PM Shri Air Ambulance Service was initiated in Madhya Pradesh earlier this year to deliver advanced medical support in emergencies.
At its launch, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that in crises such as road accidents or natural disasters, trauma units and teams of trained doctors could be swiftly transported to affected areas using the air ambulance service.
