Mumbai, May 12 (NationPress) Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday praised the Indian Armed Forces for their exemplary execution of Operation Sindoor, showcasing unparalleled strength and meticulous planning.
Describing it as a historic milestone, CM Fadnavis, who led a meeting focused on Civil Military Coordination, stated, “I pay tribute to the Indian Armed Forces.” He emphasized that the government will closely collaborate with these forces to exchange information and intelligence, aiming to bolster security in Mumbai and across Maharashtra.
“As India’s financial hub, Mumbai has been a target for adversaries. These assaults aimed to undermine our financial stronghold. Moving forward, the government must join forces with military authorities. In the current context, intelligence sharing is crucial. Enhanced cybersecurity measures are also essential. Senior officials from the government and the Indian Armed Forces will collaborate extensively,” Fadnavis remarked.
The meeting included attendance from Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department Iqbal Chahal, Director General of Police Rashmi Shukla, Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, and high-ranking officials from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Deputy CM Eknath Shinde informed the media that the meeting aimed to enhance civil and military cooperation, addressing various significant issues. “Given that Mumbai is the nation’s financial center and has faced past threats, discussions centered on ensuring foolproof security for Mumbai and the rest of Maharashtra. The government will extend full support to the Indian Armed Forces. Nodal officers will be designated for effective coordination,” he stated.
He further mentioned that both the government and armed forces will share vital intelligence to reinforce security. Plans are underway to strengthen protection at critical sites, including the RBI, BARC, stock exchanges, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus.
Deputy CM Shinde also noted that the meeting addressed strategies to counter fake news and misinformation circulating on social media platforms. He added that security along the state’s 720 km coastline will be heightened, particularly at landing points. This meeting occurred following the recent ceasefire between India and Pakistan that was established on Saturday.
On Friday, CM Fadnavis reviewed the overall security measures and readiness of the state’s police and administrative apparatus. He insisted that the police department must remain exceptionally vigilant, stating, “Given the potential rise in activities from anti-national elements, we must conduct more combing operations and enhance patrol efforts.”
He also highlighted that filming military-related activities and sharing them on social media is a criminal offense, instructing the administration to take immediate action against such acts.
