Mumbai, July 30 (NationPress) - Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday took a stand against Congress leaders for their skepticism regarding Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev. He stated to reporters that the details provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament concerning Operation Sindoor were unequivocal and factual.
According to the Maharashtra CM, prior statements from the Defence Minister and the Foreign Minister presented a comprehensive account of the nation's foreign policy and security strategy. “Instead of acknowledging this reality, Congress is attempting to obscure it. The Congress party has been thoroughly exposed,” he asserted. He further commented that it is unfortunate that Congress leaders appear to echo sentiments similar to those expressed by Pakistani officials, merely altering punctuation.
“Congress has sunk to such a low that they are now even contesting the term 'Mahadev,'” he remarked.
Previously, former Maharashtra Chief Minister and prominent Congress figure Prithviraj Chavan criticized the BJP for fostering communal division by associating military and security operations with Hindu symbols. His remarks came in response to inquiries about Operation Mahadev, the codename for a joint operation involving the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police aimed at neutralizing terrorists linked to the Pahalgam massacre in April 2025.
Chavan accused the BJP of infusing religious extremism into matters of national security. He stated that the BJP seems to know nothing beyond labeling such operations with religious connotations. “The BJP aims to intertwine Hindutva into every issue, provoking a clash between Hindus and Muslims,” he declared.
Chavan also noted that PM Modi has never provided a definitive response to Rahul Gandhi’s inquiries regarding Operation Sindoor. “Donald Trump claimed over 30 times that he facilitated a ceasefire, yet PM Modi remains silent on that. Why doesn’t he refute Trump’s assertions? It raises the question of whether PM Modi is being deceptive or if Trump is... this needs clarification.”
He additionally asked whether the BJP-led central government had annulled the Shimla Agreement and called for an explanation in Parliament concerning statements made by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
