New Delhi, July 29 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a pointed critique of the Congress party during his address in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, accusing them of diminishing the morale of India's armed forces and downplaying the nation's counter-terrorism efforts.

In response to the opposition's remarks regarding Operation Sindoor, PM Modi starkly contrasted the government's determination with what he described as the Congress party’s ongoing skepticism towards India's soldiers.

He referenced the Congress's previous comments about surgical strikes and the Balakot air strike, stating, “One Congress leader claimed we executed 3 surgical strikes, another said 6, then 9, and later 15 — the number kept escalating based on the leader’s rank.”

He accused the opposition of ridiculing national security initiatives and sowing confusion.

Directly addressing the Congress’s response during the 2019 Balakot operation, PM Modi remarked, “When our pilot Abhinandan was captured, Pakistan was clearly pleased, but some Congress leaders were also delighted, thinking ‘Modi is finished’. However, Abhinandan returned home safely.”

The Prime Minister also mentioned the recent ‘Operation Mahadev’, where Indian security forces neutralised those responsible for the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

“Even now, after this successful operation, Congress leaders are questioning the timing of this operation,” which notably occurred on June 28, while Parliament was engaged in discussions on Operation Sindoor.

PM Modi underscored the hypocrisy in the opposition's position: “Previously, they demanded photographic evidence of strikes. Now they’re questioning why we ceased Operation Sindoor. The entire nation is mocking them.”

He stated that despite international recognition of India’s counter-terrorism efforts, it is unfortunate that the Congress fails to support the valor of Indian soldiers.

Citing events like Pakistan’s unsuccessful 1000-drone attack on May 9, the Prime Minister highlighted the unmatched capabilities of India’s security forces.

“The Congress has governed the country for decades, yet they trust neither the Home Minister, nor the Foreign Minister, nor the Defence Minister. Their trust fluctuates with Pakistan’s whims,” he remarked.

As India asserts its strategic autonomy and military power, PM Modi’s address emphasized the government's zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism and pointed out the widening gap between Congress politics and national sentiment.

Point of View

I emphasize the importance of national unity and support for our armed forces. PM Modi's address reflects a critical moment where political narratives must align with the reality of India’s security challenges. It is essential to foster a collective spirit that prioritizes national interests over political rivalry.
