New Delhi, July 29 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a sharp critique of the Congress-led Opposition for allegedly ‘absolving’ Pakistan regarding the Pahalgam terror attack, ridiculing the historic party for its lack of backing for India’s counter-terrorism efforts.
Addressing Congress's assertions about failures in India's foreign policy post-Operation Sindoor, PM Modi emphasized that no countries opposed India's military actions against Pakistan.
“Out of 193 nations, only three offered support to Pakistan, either through conversation or other channels. Every nation and organization, including BRICS, backed India’s military initiatives and its fight against terrorism,” PM Modi stated in his address.
Continuing his mockery of the Congress, PM Modi noted, “We received the backing of our citizens and numerous nations, yet it's regrettable that the Congress party failed to extend support to our armed forces.”
He accused the Congress of taking advantage of the Pahalgam attack to politically target him and the government.
“They sought to gain political leverage at the expense of innocent lives lost. They weakened the morale of our armed forces and discredited their heroism,” PM Modi remarked.
He pointed out that in modern warfare, information and narratives are crucial, warning against using technology to mislead the public and undermine the armed forces on significant national matters.
Doubling down, PM Modi claimed that the Congress party was colluding with Pakistan, stating, “Currently, Congress is devoid of issues and forced to derive its agenda from external sources.”
He noted that Congress leaders have persistently requested proof of India’s surgical strikes, but upon sensing public discontent, they shifted their stance, claiming that such strikes also occurred during their administration.
“It’s fortunate they didn’t seek similar recognition like Operation Sindoor because such airstrikes had never taken place before,” he quipped, mocking the Opposition.
He added that Congress seeks reasons to contest the government’s policies even if it jeopardizes national security and emphasized their ‘disrespect’ for the armed forces.
“They exhibit a negative attitude toward our armed forces; it’s a long-standing habit of the Congress to criticize their actions,” he concluded.
