Bagdogra, May 29 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that the horrific terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam represented an assault on humanity itself. However, India's rapid and precise response through Operation Sindoor has significantly undermined terrorism and revealed Pakistan's actions on the global stage.
Speaking at the virtual celebration of the 50th anniversary of Sikkim's statehood from Bagdogra, PM Modi vehemently condemned the Pahalgam incident, where Pakistan-linked terrorists murdered 26 unarmed Indian tourists.
“Tourism symbolizes more than just leisure; it embodies a celebration of diversity. Yet, what the terrorists executed in Pahalgam was not merely an attack on Indians; it was an assault on the essence of humanity, the spirit of brotherhood,” the Prime Minister commented.
Emphasizing national unity against terror, he remarked, “The terrorists shattered the joy of numerous families; they aimed to divide us as Indians. Nevertheless, today the entire world observes a more robust and united India.”
In a resolute tone, PM Modi affirmed that India has countered terrorism and its sponsors with unwavering unity, sending a strong and clear message.
“They attempted to erase the sindoor from the heads of our daughters, leaving them in sorrow, but we retaliated with Operation Sindoor, delivering a powerful blow to terrorism,” he stated.
Under Operation Sindoor, the Indian Armed Forces executed targeted precision strikes on nine high-value terror infrastructures situated in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
PM Modi highlighted that while these hubs were dismantled, Pakistan retaliated by targeting Indian military, civilian, and religious locations.
“When the terror hubs were obliterated, Pakistan, in fear, attempted to assault our citizens and armed forces. However, in that instance too, Pakistan was exposed. We dismantled several of their air bases, demonstrating that India can act with precision and speed,” he said.
Previously, in one of his addresses, the Prime Minister reiterated that Operation Sindoor is ongoing and represents the “new normal” in India's battle against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism.
