New Delhi, July 30 (NationPress) Congress MP Imran Masood expressed his dissatisfaction on Wednesday regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address during the debate on Operation Sindoor in the Lok Sabha, asserting that the PM did not respond to any queries posed by the Opposition.
In an interview with IANS, Masood remarked, "India requires a robust Prime Minister; nevertheless, the PM appeared to be quite feeble yesterday. While the entire nation was rallying behind the Prime Minister and the measures he undertook during Operation Sindoor, the Opposition solely aimed to deliberate on that aspect."
He continued, "We expected the Prime Minister to clarify that Trump was mistaken. Yet, he did not even mention the UP President, who continues to take credit for the ceasefire agreement. With China assisting Pakistan in their fight against us, did the ruling party remain oblivious? Was this another case of intelligence failing?"
On Tuesday, PM Modi launched a fierce critique against the Congress during his Lok Sabha address, accusing the party of consistently demoralizing India's Armed Forces and minimizing the significance of the nation's counter-terror operations.
In response to the Opposition's critiques of Operation Sindoor, the Prime Minister juxtaposed the government's resolute position with what he termed Congress' "tendency to doubt India's soldiers."
Without directly naming anyone, PM Modi made insinuations towards senior Congress figures such as Shashi Tharoor, Manish Tewari, and Amar Singh-- crucial players in India's diplomatic endeavors following Operation Sindoor who were absent from the debate.
"Some individuals are restricted from speaking in Parliament... some raise objections even to praises for India," PM Modi noted, alluding to the internal conflicts within Congress regarding recent commendatory remarks made by some of its members towards the government.
In reaction to this, Masood stated, "This is our party's internal issue to determine who gets a chance to speak and who doesn't. Just like Tharoor and Tewari, I was also not permitted to speak. This does not indicate a problem. Everyone should have the opportunity, and all decisions are made by the party. Not everyone can speak simultaneously."
